I would like to inform you that the Graduate School of Life Sciences has advertised a position for a Professor in the Department of Ecological Developmental Adaptability Life Sciences. I would appreciate it if you could bring this information to the attention of qualified colleagues.
 
1. Vacancy: One Professor position 
 
2. Affiliation: Department of Ecological Developmental Adaptability Life Sciences, Graduate School of Life Sciences, Tohoku University
 
3. Research field: Plant Science
 
4. Qualifications:
 (1) Applicants should have a record of distinction in a plant science discipline and be willing to be actively involved in the education and research guidance of students.
 (2) Applicants should study plant science at the molecular level.
 (3) Applicants should be highly motivated to develop new research fields and to perform interdisciplinary research.
 
5. Besides graduate teaching in the Graduate School, a contribution to the undergraduate teaching of basic biology may be requested.
 
6. Employment start date: April 1, 2020, or later
 
7. Required documents (in Japanese or English):
 (1) Curriculum vitae with headshot.
 (2) List of publications:
  • Please classify these as original papers, reviews, book chapters and invited lectures, etc.
  • Please label papers in which the applicant is the corresponding author with a *.
  • If available, provide your Researcher ID, ORCID ID or URL of your Google Scholar Profile at the top of the list.
 (3) A summary of current and past research (no more than 800 words).
 (4) PDFs of five selected papers with their short descriptions (with the total less than 400 words).
 (5) A statement regarding your future research plans and ambitions (no more than 600 words).
 (6) A statement regarding your experience and interests in/philosophy of teaching (no more than 800 words).
 (7) List of research grants received within the past ten years.
 (8) Other, such as awards received, contribution to organization of symposia, editing of scientific journals, being a committee member for scientific societies, etc.
 (9) References (Two, including names and contact information).
