Examination Schedule and Application Guidelines

All applications must be submitted through The Admissions Office (TAO) website.

 - System Access: You can only enter data into TAO only during the specific application period for each exam.
Preparation: Please prepare your official English scores and required certificates in advance based on the guidelines
*Note: Some English scores take up to 2 months to be issued; please plan ahead.
- Pre-registration: The "Application Confirmation Form" (regarding your internet environment for exam) is available for entry starting one week before the application period. Please complete this first.
 
Overseas PaymentsIf you do not have a Japanese bank account and wish to pay the examination fee from abroad, you must contact the Academic Affairs Section of the Graduate School of Life Sciences in advance for instructions.
 
English Proficiency Score RequirementsSubmission of a score from TOEIC® L&R, TOEFL iBT®, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test is mandatory.
- TOEIC L&R: Upload the PDF of your "Digital Official Score Certificate" to TAO.
*For information regarding application documents (designated English test scores) in response to reports of fraudulent TOEIC testing (Japanese only)
Duolingo English Test: You must perform the official score issuance procedure after testing. Upload your examinee's Score Record to TAO.
- TOEFL: Arrange for ETS to send the official score directly to the university. Upload your "Test Taker Score Report" to TAO.
- IELTS: Upload your score to TAO and mail the original paper certificate to the university.

Important Reminders
1. English Proficiency Scores: You must submit scores from the TOEIC® L&R, TOEFL iBT®, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test as part of your application. Please take your chosen test early to ensure your results arrive before the deadline.
 
2. Faculty Consent: You are required to submit a copy of an email or document confirming that your prospective supervisor has agreed to let you join their lab. We recommend contacting faculty members as soon as possible to discuss their research in detail and ensure your interests align.
