Leave of absence/withdrawal from university

Procedures for requesting a leave of absence or withdrawal from the university.

 If you wish to take a leave of absence or withdraw from the university, please consult your situation with your academic advisor in advance. Students need to request their academic advisor to prepare a "Comments on the Application for Leave of Absence" and submit it to the Academic Affairs Section together with the application form for request for leave of absence/withdraw. Please note that the application form for leave of absence/withdrawal prepared by the student also must be stamped by the academic advisor.

The deadline for submission is as follows:
- If you wish to take a leave of absence from April 1, or withdraw from the university on March 31, you will need to submit your application by February 15 of the same year.
- If you wish to take a leave of absence from October 1, or withdraw from the school on September 30, you will need to submit your application by August 15 of the same year.

In case of other dates than the above:
Withdrawal *The withdrawal date will be the end of the month in which you wish to withdraw.

April 30 → First Friday of April of the same year
May 31 → First Friday of May of the same year
June 30 → First Friday of June of the same year
July 31 → First Friday of July of the same year 
August 31 → First Friday of August of the same year 
October 31 → First Friday of October of the same year
November 30 → First Friday of November of the same year
December 31 → First Friday of December of the same year
January 31 → First Friday of January of the same year 
February 28 (29) → First Friday of February of the same year 

Leave of Absence (Extension) / Returning to School *The leave of absence starts at the beginning of the month and ends at the end of the month in which the leave of absence is requested.
You can submit an application for a leave of absence (extension) only when the period is 3 months or longer.
Requests will be accepted per each academic year. In principle, it is not possible to submit a request for more than one academic year. Please contact the Academic Affairs Section in advance if there is a possibility that you will need to apply for more than one year.

May 1 → Second Friday in April of the same year
June 1 → Second Friday in May of the same year
July 1 → Second Friday in June of the same year
August 1 → Second Friday in July of the same year
September 1 → August 15 of the same year
November 1 → Second Friday in October of the same year
December 1 → Second Friday in November of the same year
January 1 → Second Friday in December of the previous year
February 1 → Second Friday in January of the same year
March 1 → February 15 of the same year

Notes:
・Application for Leave of Absence and Withdrawal will be accepted only after confirmation of tuition payment by the day before the start of the leave ob absence or withdrawal from the university.
・At the end of the leave of absence, tuition will be automatically accrued and will be transferred from your account. If you wish to extend your leave of absence, please be sure to submit the necessary documents by the deadline.
