We are pleased to present our upcoming HAIlight event to you: a digital teatime get-together with Alumni from Asia and Europe. The international “New Year’s Teatime” will take place via interactive video conference on Wednesday, February 3. The event will take approximately one hour and will start at 12 a.m. in Central European Time; 20 p.m. in Japan and South Korea; 19 p.m. in Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia; and 18 p.m. in Thailand and Indonesia. The virtual room will be open 15 minutes prior to the event. Please enter the room before the start time and be prepared to join us from your computer with camera and audio to make the most of this event. 

You can look forward to an exclusive Heidelberg Quiz and music from the international choir “Camerata Carolina” at Heidelberg University. We will also learn more about different New Year’s traditions from international Alumni in Asian countries. Silke Rodenberg, the director of HAI, and Sabine Schenk, coordinator of the Heidelberg University Office, Kyoto (HUOK), will take part in this event. 

Please prepare your favorite cup, fill it with tea or coffee, enjoy some snacks and join our online teatime. You will be able to talk about the background of your personal teacup with other participants and exchange about different New Year’s celebrations in breakout sessions. Use this opportunity to broaden your network among alumni and friends of Heidelberg University across boarders! 

The February HAIlight will be conducted in English. If you want to take part, please send an e-mail with your full name to hailight＊alumni.uni-heidelberg.de（*を@に置き換えてください）  by February 1. Space is limited, so please register as soon as possible. You will receive a Webex-Link 2 days prior to the event in order to log in to the video conference.
