We are pleased to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the President's and Dean's Awards as follows.
Please note that only students who completed (or plan to complete) their studies in the academic year 2025 (*) are eligible.
* Students who have already completed their studies in September 2025, or any other month during the 2025 academic year, and who plan to complete their studies in March 2026 are eligible.

Tohoku University President's Award
At the upcoming Tohoku University Commencement Ceremony on March 25, 2025, the President of Tohoku University will award the "President's Award" to students who have achieved excellent academic results and have fulfilled educational goals during their studies at Tohoku University.
In this regard, we would like to announce that we are looking for a candidate to be nominated for this award by the Graduate School of Life Sciences in the following manner.
Graduate School of Life Sciences Dean's Award
The "Dean's Award" of the Graduate School will be given to several applicants among those who have applied for the President's Award.
1 Eligibility: Students who have completed (or expect to complete) a 2-year Master's program or a 3-year Ph.D. program in the 2025 academic year
2 Application Method: Apply directly to the Academic Affairs Section of the Graduate School of Life Sciences no later than Friday, January 30, 2026(*) using the Tohoku University President's Award Application
*Students who have already completed their studies in September 2025, or any other month during the 2025 academic year are also eligible to apply. Please contact the Academic Affairs Section or your academic advisor.
3 Method of Award: Certificate and award are presented by the Tohoku University President for the President's Award and by the Dean of the Graduate School of Life Sciences for the Dean's Award
4 This award may be listed as an evaluation factor (award history) in a scholarship return waiver request.
*Selection and Award Ceremony
Selection will take place in February 2026 and the awards will be presented on Tuesday, March 25, 2026.
(The President's Award and the Dean's Awards will be presented at the Graduate School of Life Sciences Graduation Ceremony, which follows the University-wide Commencement Ceremony.)
