We are now accepting applications for the 2025 Tohoku University Global Hagi Scholarship (for students enrolled in April).
*October enrollment students are not eligible for this application, so please apply for the application around November 2025.

1. Eligibility
Students enrolled in the Graduate School of Life Sciences who meet all of the following requirements
(1) Second year Master's students (started their second year in April 2025) or
First-year Ph.D. students (who began their studies in April 2025)
*Please contact us if your study period is longer than the general study period of the program (2 years for the Master's program) or if you have a record of leaves of absence in the past, as we will confirm each applicant's eligibility on an individual basis.
(2) Students with excellent academic records and character.
(3) Master's students with a strong desire to advance to the Ph.D. program.
(4) Students who do not receive financial aid as specified separately by the university *Please confirm the "5. Other" below.
2. Scholarship Amount
600,000 JPY per year (300,000 JPY for the spring semester will be paid around July, and 300,000 yen for the fall semester will be paid around January)
3. Scholarship Period
One final year of the Master's program and three years of the standard Ph.D. program.
*Students who have been selected for this scholarship in the Master's program will continue to receive it after they have advanced to the Ph.D. program.
4. Application Documents
(1) Application Form for Global Hagi Scholarship(GSLS)
(2) Ph.D. students who have been enrolled in the Doctoral Course from outside the Graduate School of Life Sciences must submit a copy of their Master's transcript.
*Transcripts are not required for students who have been advanced to the Ph.D. program from the Master's program in our Graduate School.
